Pursue Your Dreams - It's Never Too Late
By reading the title of this post, “Pursue Your Dreams” some may think “well, I am too old to do that” or maybe even “that is impossible for me.” But I am here to tell you that:
You are NEVER too late to pursue a dream.
Nothing is impossible once you set your whole mind and heart to it and I am a FIRM believer in that statement.
I remember when my mom was struggling with her job, saying how she wasn’t enjoying it anymore and I stepped in and said, “Well quit — find something else.” And she came back by saying, “I can’t do that, I have worked here for so long…. It would be hard to find something that would match my pay that I am making here..”
Long story short, she got a new job and she is loving every minute of it. She took that leap of faith.
As you may already know about me (if you have been following along since day one in this crazy journey), I originally went to college to be a Registered Nurse. Turns out, that was not God’s calling for me anymore. I didn’t exactly know what my calling was at the time, but I am slowly figuring it out and let me tell you — LIFE HAS NEVER BEEN BETTER.
Recently, I have acquired some new talents, new likes, and some new adventures. I started blogging, simply because I love sharing stories, my thoughts, and my beliefs. I started doing some influencer stuff because I love all things fashion, shopping, & photography!
But a new talent that I have started on during this new “norm” is handmade stamped jewelry… What made me try this new hobby!? I love jewelry and custom pieces, so I took it upon myself to create pieces for myself that I knew I would love. It then turned into others seeing my work and wanting some for themselves too…
I have always loved the thought of being my own boss and running my own little small business (like I am sure many of us have dreamt of) but I never knew what it was going to be. So, this is where “Pursue Your Dreams” falls into hand. I am slowly creating my small online store to sell these pieces on. You can shop some items I have available now by clicking on this link: https://rissas-reality.myshopify.com
This process has been challenging, and it requires a lot of work. But the pros of this are outweighing the cons and I cannot wait to see where this takes me.
I am one who shoots for the stars & sometimes makes some unrealistic thoughts in my head, but through every little idea I come across I give it my 100% and try it out. Because if you don’t at least try it, how do you know it won’t work?
So my challenge for YOU this Monday is to do something you have always wanted to do. Whether it is starting college up again to find your new niche, finding a new job that you will love and not dread, starting a workout routine to lose some weight or get healthier, scheduling a road trip to a place you have always wanted to go (even though this is hard to do right now with Corona), starting a small business, saving up for that dream house you have always wanted or whatever. Ask yourself what your dream is in life, where you want to be and what you need to do to take the first step to getting there.
In my Above All Else devotional book by Chelsea Crockett, she has on Day 31 p. 109 the title "I'm Dreamin". She wrote something that everyone should take away from it,
"Ask God to grow your desires and teach you the purpose behind the things you're doing. Even if you may not be where you want to be right now, remember the Lord is always faithful and always working things for your greatest good. He can do so much more when we entrust our paths to him than we can ever do by ourselves."
